The Matterhorn is a mountain in the Pennine Alps Range that lies on the border between Switzerland and Italy. Standing at a stunning 14,692 feet tall, Matterhorn has garnered a grisly reputation as the deadliest mountain in the Alps. Since 1865, over 500 mountain climbers have died trying to climb to the top of Matterhorn. Despite the dangerous reputation, Matterhorn is an iconic symbol of the Swiss Alps and a source of pride for the Swiss.
