Pine Creek Gorge is known as the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania and it is located in the Tioga State Forest along Pine Creek. The canyon stretches 47 miles, starting south of Ansonia, Pennsylvania and ends at the southern part of the state. At its maximum depth, Pine Creek Gorge is about 1,450 feet tall, and the majority of the area remains undeveloped.  Pine Creek is recognized as a natural landmark in the United States. It used to be used for traveling for Native Americans, it was also used for lumbering before it became protected and lumbering in the area became illegal.  There are various driving and hiking trails throughout the park. It’s a beautiful and scenic place to visit, especially in the warmer months of the year where plants and animals thrive inside the park.
