The Chateau de Chambord is a French landmark and one of the most recognizable examples of French Renaissance architecture in the world. King Francois I built the Chateau de Chambord to his mistress, Comtesse de Thoury. Although it is the largest castle in the Loire Valley, it was originally built as simply a hunting lodge for King Francois I.
