Mongolia is a northern-Asian country located between China and Russia, with China to the south and Russia to the north. While Mongolia is the nineteenth-largest country in the world, it is only home to around 3 million people, making it the most sparsely-populated independent country in the world. This means that the country is very much filled with open space. The lowest point of elevation, at 518 feet is the Monogolian Plains (as pictured). Mongolia also has various moutanious areas, the three major moutain ranges are the Altai Moutains, which are the highest, the Khanghai Mountains, and the Khentii Mountains. Mongolia has long winters and short summers so be wary of the climate when traveling.
