There are endless things to do in Balboa park, such as visit one of the many museums. One of them is the Museum of Photographic Arts, which is one of the few museums devoted to entirely photography. Another Museum is the San Diego Art Institute. Every 4-6 weeks new works of art from San Diego are displayed. Also, the San Diego Air & Space houses aircrafts used in various historic events, like the real Appolo 9 spacecraft module.

Various activities involving the preforming arts take place in the park. Bon Temps Social Club hosts dances every second Saturday of the month (Kids with parent or guardian are welcome). If you’re visiting with children you can attend one of the Marie Hitchcock Puppet Shows. The shows rotate year-round, so there’s always something new to see in Balboa Park.

There is also many different gardens inside the park. One of the most popular and well-known is the Alcazar Garden (as pictured). Located right next to the Art Institute is over 7,000 different annual plants that flourish throughout the year. Another exotic location is the Palm Canyon. Palm Canyon is an oasis with over 2 acres of space. It’s also free to the public so you can bring your friends and family to enjoy.

Balboa park is not only beautiful, but it is full of fun and intriguing things to do. From visiting the museums to attedning a dance or visiting the stunning gardens. It’s a wonderful place to visit year-round.
