Top Tourist Tips for Shanghai

With China beckoning more and more Western tourists every year, the foreign-influenced city of Shanghai is a great place to start your Chinese explorations. Not sure what there is to see and do in Shanghai? Check this list of popular tourist attractions:

  • The Bund: A street of many styles of architecture, it’s the colonial heart of Shanghai and a fascinating mix of many cultures.
  • Yuyuan Garden: An ancient garden put together in the styles of the Ming and Qing dynasties, with six different areas making it the largest garden in Shanghai.
  • Oriental Pearl TV Tower: At 1536 feet tall, it’s hard to miss this one, and it’s meant to be the tallest TV tower in Asia.
  • Shanghai Museum: Everything you’d expect from a great museum covering the many interesting eras of Chinese history.
  • Jade Buddha Temple: Probably the most famous buddhist temple in Shanghai, and home to a great restaurant as well.
  • Nanjing Road: The best place to go in Shanghai when you want to go shopping, you’ll find everything you want here.
