Sightseeing in Singapore

More than just a hub where millions of people change planes each year, Singapore is a tourist attraction in itself. It’s a gentle introduction to Asia, where things look Western and most people speak English, but the Asian culture is there to enjoy as well. Some of the main sights of Singapore include:

  • Orchard Road, where the shopping is fantastic and you can eat and stay there too.
  • Sentosa Island, home to a myriad of attractions including the Underwater World aquarium and its offshoot the Dolphin Lagoon.
  • Singapore Zoo and the later in the day version, the Night Safari – both fantastic collections of animals, and the Night Safari is something a bit different, where you can see the animals which are more active at night.
  • Little India is where the Indian population of Singapore is centered and there’s great food and shopping too to be found there.
  • Singapore Botanic Gardens are a great place to stroll and relax if the heat and humidity of the inner city gets too much for you.
  • Thian Hock Keng Temple is one of many temples you can find dotted around Singapore – it is Taoist and makes for an interesting visit.
  • The Raffles Hotel where you can try a Singapore Sling cocktail at the very place it was invented.
