What You Should Know

The Magic Kingdom Park is truly the most magical of all the Disney Parks. When guests visit the park they find themselves immersed in the best attractions and entertainment Disney has to offer.

Although the smallest of all the Disney Parks, the Magic Kingdom can also be the most crowded for visitors. Attractions and shows are closer together and not as ‘spread out’ as they are in other parks, such as Animal Kingdom and Epcot. It is not uncommon to see long lines in areas such as Fantasyland and Frontierland, especially on the most popular lines.

Knowing the layout of the park will help you when touring the Magic Kingdom, but it also important to know the park policies and procedures. This will help you when entering the park and when spending your day in the park.

disney2005-189.jpgFastpass – Disney’s Fastpass system is a way to cut down on your wait time allowing you to maximize your day at the Magic Kingdom. Attractions that offer Fastpass will have a marked area with distribution machines. Each member of your party will need to insert their park ticket into the machine in order to receive your Fastpass tickets. Each ticket will show the return time so you will know when to return to the attraction. Return anytime during the return time range (example 10:05-11:05) and use the Fastpass return entrance. You will have little or no waiting time.

Attractions that utilize Fastpass include; Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Jungle Cruise, Peter Pan’s Flight, The Haunted Mansion, Winne-the Pooh, and Buzz Lightyear.

The bottom of your Fastpass ticket will also show when you are able to obtain another Fastpass ticket. Disney does limit the number of Fastpass tickets you may have at one time.

Stroller Rental / Wheelchair
As you enter the Magic Kingdom; you will find the Stroller and Wheelchair rental area on the right. You should expect to pay a daily rental fee and a refundable deposit. If you switch parks during the same day, use your receipt at the new park and you will be given another stroller without paying an additional fee.

Smoking Policy
The Magic Kingdom is considered a non-smoking park, with minimal smoking areas that are clearly marked on your guide map.

Baby Care
The Magic Kingdom Baby Care Center is located next to the Crystal Palace Restaurant. This is a terrific place for parents to take their small children for a diaper or clothing change. They also are able to warm formula or cereal for you. You can feed your baby in a comfortable rocking chair, or change your baby in a quiet area. Formula, diapers and other baby items are available for sale.

First Aid
The first aid center is located behind the Crystal Palace restaurant, near the Baby Care Center. A registered nurse is always on duty and can assist with minor medical problems.

Guests with Disabilities
Walt Disney World makes a tremendous effort to make their attractions, restaurants and guest areas accessible to guests with disabilities. Any cast member can offer assistance and guidance for these guests.

ATM
The Magic Kingdom does have ATM’s located in certain areas of the park. They can be found on Main Street, in Frontierland and in Tomorrowland. Consult your park guide for exact locations.

Lockers
The Magic Kingdom has lockers, located underneath the Main Street Railroad for guests wishing to leave items there during their visit. There is a daily fee that includes a refundable deposit.

Lost & Found
Report all lost or found articles to City Hall.

Lost Children
If you become separated from your child, report it immediately to any Disney cast member. Before you travel to Disney World, your children should be advised that if they become separated from you they should find a Disney cast member and ask for help.

Child Swap
This system allows parents to ride attractions independently without spending extra time waiting on line. The way it works is that both parents and child wait on line and once you get to the ride loading area, advise the cast member you are swapping off. One parent rides as the second parent waits with the child. When the rider parent exits they take the child and the second parent rides without any other wait time.

Package Pickup
All shops in the Magic Kingdom offer package pickup where your purchases can be forwarded to the main gate and picked up as you exit the park. This makes it easy to purchase that giant Mickey Mouse doll without lugging it around the park all day.
