Mount Hood is a stratovolcano located in the Cascade Volcanic Arc of Northern Oregon, situated about 50 miles southeast of Portland. At 11,249 feet, Mount Hood is the highest mountain in Oregon and is considered the most likely volcano to erupt in the area. Despite the danger, Mount Hood remains extremely popular for sightseers who come to view its 12 glaciers, and for outdoorsmen who aim to hike and climb Mount Hood.
