The Eiffel Tower is arguably the most iconic landmark in all of Paris, serving as a symbol for one of the world’s great cities as well as the whole country of France itself. Built as the entrance arch for the 1889 World’s Fair, the Eiffel Tower has become one of the most popular tourist attractions in the world. It was the tallest structure in the world until 1930, when the Chrysler Building eclipsed the tower.
