Nusfjord is one of the oldest and best-preserved fishing villages in Norway and the population of the village has relied on fishing since the middle of the 19th century. Although the village is often rumored to be on UNESCO’s World Heritage list, such rumors are incorrect. However, Nusfjord has attracted UNESCO’s attention as one of three pilot projects in Norway that would help to preserve these unique wooden environments.
