Lindos, which is located on the Greek island of Rhodes, was originally founded in the 10th century BC and served as a major trading center for hundreds of years. Today, though, the town is most popular for the well-preserved remains of the ancient city, as well as for its pristine beaches. The most popular site in Lindos is the acropolis, the highest part of the town from which tourists can see several of Greek buildings that are more than 2,000 years old.
