The Rockefeller Center is located between Fifth Avenue and Seventh Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. Built by the Rockefeller family, the Rockefeller Center was declared a national historic landmark in 1987. The famous and recognizable statue of Atlas faces Fifth Avenue and was constructed by sculptor Lee Lawrie as part of the old American architectural style that integrated public art.
