The Sultan Ahmed Mosque is the national mosque of Turkey and one of the most noticeable and distinctive landmarks in Istanbul. The mosque is a relic from the Ottoman Empire, built during the rule of Ahmed I between 1609 and 1616. Because of its grandeur and fame throughout the world, the Sultan Ahmed Mosque has become one of the most popular tourist destinations throughout Istanbul and the rest of Turkey.

We did an organised tour of turkey which included a one day tour of Istanbul. At least three days is needed.The food, the people, the place and ahhhh! the apple tea.
We will return.
