The Glenfinnan Viaduct is a Scottish railway viaduct built between 1897 and 1901 and it allows trains to travel from Fort William to Mallaig. Although it was once a crucial component of Scotland’s fishing industry, it has now become a popular tourist destination among those who want to take in the gorgeous sights from the train. The Glenfinnan Viaduct can also be seen in a variety of movies, most popularly the Harry Potter series of films.

When visiting the Glenfinnan Viaduct, be sure to stay (or at least, stop by for lunch) at Inverlochy Castle http://www.inverlochycastlehotel.com/ – My favorite hotel on the planet.
I’ve always wanted to know where that viaduct was located!
