Few cities have a history that spans as much time and as much significance as Athens, the capital and largest city of Greece. At least 3,400 years old, the city in which the likes of Socrates, Pericles, and Sophocles were born is now home to around 750,000 people. As recently as this decade, Athens’ infrastructure has undergone dramatic improvements, making it an even more popular tourist destination for those who wish to enjoy the city’s classical grandeur.
