Manda Island has a number of ports and is located in the African country of Kenya. The ports were vital in the 9th century, as the trade of elephant ivory was very important to the local economy. Later, porcelain and pottery trade became popular on Manda Island. The island also has Manda Airport — the only airport in the surrounding area.
