Mont St Michel is a rocky island off the north coast of Normandy, France. On the island, you will find the medieval Benedictine Abbey and a steepled church. The island is connected to mainland France by a thin natural land bridge. If you are headed to Mont St Michel, bring your walking shoes. The Escalier de Dentelle (Lace Staircase) which leads to the roof of the abbey church has more than 900 steps.
