Delta, like every airline, has baggage restrictions, luggage charges, and a carry on policy that passengers need to be aware of. Before you decide to fly on Delta you should learn more about these restrictions and fees to ensure that you are making the right decision for your trip.

At this time, Delta allows each passenger to check one bag free of charge. Each bag must weigh less than 50 pounds, and may not be any larger than 62 inches when adding the length, width, and height. If you must check another bag, the fee for doing so is $50. Bag three will be charged at a rate of $125, and bags four through ten at a rate of $200. If traveling outside of the United States these fees are even higher.

Delta also charges fees for overweight and oversize luggage. This comes into play if your bag weighs more than 50 pounds or is larger than 62 inches.

Passengers are allowed one carry on bag and one personal item. Your carry on must weigh less than 40 pounds, and cannot be larger than 45 inches when adding the length, width, and height. Additionally, the item must fit either in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you.

This is a basic breakdown of Delta’s baggage restrictions, luggage charges, and carry on policy.
