Cool pics
September 17th, 2007 at 6:44 pm
Nice list, but leaving Iguazu out is an oversight! It’s huge and beautiful.

you show yosemite falls twice. ribbon falls is in another part of yosemite valley
September 18th, 2007 at 2:57 am
Jennifer,
You have obviously done your homework. If you are interested in another big North Cascades waterfall, hike up Baker Creek Trail and there is a big one up the valley to the left at the first creek crossing (end of maintained trail).

Once worked in Guyana (South America) and visited Kaiteur Falls, touted the tallest single drop waterfall in the world right in the Amazon jungle. I think you should post it here, too.
September 18th, 2007 at 7:51 am
One of the best photos of water falls. I really liked the Gotca & kahiwa falls photos.
September 18th, 2007 at 8:43 am
Apperently you need to visit Iceland, Iceland has some beautiful waterfalls. I think they are better then some posted here.
September 18th, 2007 at 6:30 pm
No Iguazu?
Undoubtely, one f the three most impressive ones in the world… to bad this list is amateurish.
September 18th, 2007 at 8:00 pm
Seriously, not to sound like a broken record, but without Iguazu Falls (Los Cataratas) in Northern Argentina, this list is “amateurish” (of course, we all appreciate the efforts, but it does need work). A list of waterfalls without Iguazu would be like making a list of predators and not mentioning the great white shark. Figure it out, and get it up top with Victoria Falls now!
September 18th, 2007 at 9:20 pm
You forgot Iguazu Falls at Argentina.. bad bad bad boy.
September 18th, 2007 at 10:02 pm
You’re missing Kaieteur Falls in Guyana.
September 18th, 2007 at 10:32 pm
what about plitvice national park in croatia?
September 19th, 2007 at 1:24 am
You forgot #1: IGUAZU.
Have you no decency?
September 19th, 2007 at 5:04 pm
true, iguazu falls is among the prettiest and definitely mos impressive waterfalls in the world.
September 22nd, 2007 at 5:01 pm
You have some great falls but I would say you missed Plitvice Lakes http://www.explorecroatia.net/attractions/plitvice.php
and Krka http://www.explorecroatia.net/nature/krka.php
September 22nd, 2007 at 5:09 pm
You missed
Takakkaw Falls is a waterfall located in Yoho National Park, near Field, British Columbia, in Canada. Its highest point is 384 m (1260 feet), making it the second-highest officially measured waterfall in western Canada, after Della Falls on Vancouver Island. However its true “free-fall” is only 254 m. (from Wikipedia)

Hi, very beautiful pic about water falls
September 24th, 2007 at 7:43 am
Heywhat happened to Agua Azul in Mexico? Not high but very impressive!
September 24th, 2007 at 8:34 pm
Not the largest or most famous, but the Dunn’s River Falls in Ocho Rios, Jamaica are beautiful and you can actually climb up them. A lot of fun, but beware, the rocks are slippery and the water is COLD!!
September 25th, 2007 at 12:51 am
You missed the greatest falls of all…. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaieteur_Falls
September 26th, 2007 at 9:36 pm
What kind or arse would forget Iguassu (or Iguazu) falls?
September 27th, 2007 at 10:24 am
Yes… the fact that Iguacu was left out. Tsk Tsk…
September 27th, 2007 at 3:52 pm
Wow. Those are some really cool waterfalls! Heading up to Yosemite this weekend, so I’ll have to try and check it out!
September 27th, 2007 at 5:17 pm
You’ve forgotten Multnomah Falls! Located in Oregon, it’s one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the US. http://kevingong.com/Hiking/Images/MultnomahFalls/B09MultnomahFalls001.jpg
September 28th, 2007 at 9:26 pm
Sad to see you miss Iguacu Falls out. It is bigger and more beautiful than most of the falls listed above.
September 28th, 2007 at 9:29 pm
Iguacu Falls is a Brazilian fall, only a small part is located in Argentina (…)
October 2nd, 2007 at 1:59 am
Hey, where’s Multnomah? Picture I mean…I know where the waterfall is.
October 2nd, 2007 at 4:54 am
Hate to break it to you Eduard, but 22% of Iguazu waterfalls are Brazilian territory and 78% are Argentine territory. Check your facts
October 3rd, 2007 at 3:57 pm
thanks for a relaxing view, just came home from work and enjoyed a bit of quiet time before going on with my day

October 8th, 2007 at 1:04 pm
hello every one you missed crab tree falls
October 8th, 2007 at 2:32 pm
Forgot the most beautiful waterfalls in the world, Foz de IGUAZU! Eleanor Roosevelt said, “Poor Niagra” when she saw it …..
October 9th, 2007 at 5:11 am
i agree with brian, the golden falls in Iceland are better than most of these (especially niagra)
October 10th, 2007 at 5:44 am
Great work. There are, of course, more and different falls to choose from, and I would suggest Iceland’s Dettifoss, Gullfoss, Skogafoss, and the amazing Grimsvotn (which may not actually qualify as a waterfall, since it is intermittent), as well as Iguazu…expand the list to 300 and it would still be wonderful. Thanks
October 10th, 2007 at 10:34 pm
Just another comment about forgetting Iguazú… gotta rep
October 12th, 2007 at 8:56 am
Beautiful, but, you need to come to Brazil to visit the cents of water falls we have. Visit us and you will love it!
October 12th, 2007 at 11:50 am
I think that the most beautiful and breathtaking falls are in the triangle borders of Brazil, Argentina and Peru: it takes two hole days to walk around those amazing Cascades
October 12th, 2007 at 3:17 pm
Half of those on the list are in North America. Iguazu is the most impressive waterfall in the world by a mile and it’s not on the list. Typical American ignorance.
October 12th, 2007 at 4:05 pm
Matt (No.41) - u r one hundred percent absolutely right!!!
October 12th, 2007 at 4:47 pm
matt “Typical American ignorance.”
I have to say that sound pretty ignorant in its self.
October 12th, 2007 at 6:47 pm
Mekmek(no.40) sorry to correct u but the countries in the triangle borders are Argentina, Brasil and Pararaguay (not Peru). Paraguay, though it’s near, has nothing to do with the falls. The falls (as Lola mentioned previously) are mainly in Argentine territory. The most breathtaking wiews are, however, from Brazilian territory.
October 13th, 2007 at 8:34 am
I stand corrected you are tight about the triangle borders are Brazil’ Argentina and Paraguay (not Peru). about who’s side has the most waterfalls, I don’t really knows, but i think bout sides, although they are different a Little from each other are beautiful, but I guess the but is in the eye of the beholder…
and about Eric (No. 43): You can’t ignore an outstanding phenomenon as foz the iguazu (it spelled different in every language) in a list of “the 29 most beautiful waterfall in the world” and not calling it ignorance… the Iguazu is not No. 30 or lower…
October 13th, 2007 at 12:45 pm
Mekmek You may be right but thats not what I said. I said his comment stating that was “Typical American ignorance.” was ignorant and I stand by that. Would it be better to just call it American bashing?
October 13th, 2007 at 1:07 pm
to Eric (No. 46,43)
you probably right about one thing: the word “Typical” is completely redundant and has a very strong smell of stereotyping…
but it has nothing to do with the fact that the the Foz the iguazu cannot be exclude fro that list!!!
Anyway, although this is an important subject, I don’t want to make it a political/ethnical/racist or such confrontation, this site is about waterfall, and that’s all
October 23rd, 2007 at 1:47 pm
Near the Tronador we went to a big fall. It was awesome, it’s name is Saltillo de las Nalcas.
Very interesting place to visit:

I see you have encountered many of the same problems Bryan Swan (my WWD counterpart) and I have come across. It’s AWFULLY hard to make a “best-of” list without a slew of people taking exception. For what it’s worth, I’ve spotted some errors:
1) Your shot of Kahiwa Falls is in reality Papalaua Falls. Kahiwa Falls is out of sight off the right edge of the photo.
2) The shot of Boyoma Falls is not Boyoma Falls.
3) The impressive falls on Pocket Creek are at the cirque wall, side by side with Hole In The Wall Falls.
4) Your shot of Tin Mine Falls is actually Yosemite Park’s Silver Strand Falls.
5) Your shot of Ribbon Falls is actually Yosemite Falls.
6) Your shot of Langfoss is actually Latefossen (on the left) and Skjervefossen (on the right).
For what it’s worth, I’d recommend including Iguacu as well, but I’d not attack your character as some of the comments did. Believe me, Bryan and I have done a LOT of work compiling our database and there is so much stuff in my raw data that hasn’t yet been included in the World Waterfall Database. The more I research, the more I find.
Peace,
Dean Goss

Iguassu has to be there! It is surely the world’s second most impressive falls, and must be be put there! Victoria is more impressive than Iguassu, and possibly even more beautiful, but Iguassu is surely number two! put it on the list!
