How To Travel to Disney World
Many airlines offer direct flights to Orlando and when booking in advance you can often find very attractive airfares for your vacation. It almost always is a better deal to book your airfare separately and not as part of a vacation package, but it does not hurt to check for promotional deals with travel services.

Disney’s Magical Express Service
As a new service provided by Disney, it allows visitors to arrive at the Orlando airport and then travel to their Disney Resort courtesy of a Disney bus. The service includes allowing visitors to bypass the baggage claim area, as their luggage is transported directly to their resort. This convenient service saves visitors money and time. At this time there is no extra charge for this service but it is only available to visitors who are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort. Arrangements for this service need to be made in advance.
Rental Cars
Renting a car for your Orlando vacation will certainly add to your expenses, but will offer you the flexibility of traveling away from your hotel for meals and trips to other attractions. Although having a rental car is not necessary, especially when staying at a Disney Resort (they provide complimentary bus transportation to all Disney parks), having a car does broaden your options for meals outside the Disney property. Even with the expense of a car this may save you money in the long run.

One thing to consider when choosing a rental car company in Orlando is the location of the cars. Although all may indicate they are located at the Orlando airport, many require you to take a shuttle bus from the airport to the rental office located outside the airport grounds. This can cause a major inconvenience if you are traveling with a lot of luggage and/or small children. It may be worthwhile to choose a company that has its cars onsite at the airport (even if the cost is slightly higher). This also will help when you return the car directly to the airport instead of off-site where a shuttle will have to return you to the terminal for your flight. Currently, the rental car companies that are in-terminal are Avis, Alamo, Dollar and National.
