Opened in the spring of 2005, the Wynn Las Vegas is one of Las Vegas’ tallest buildings. Once the site of the legendary Desert Inn Resort, the 215-acre property combines the “Old Las Vegas” tradition with new technology, such as high-speed Internet connections and VOIP technology, in all of the guest rooms. Named for the resort’s owner, Steve Wynn, the luxurious 2716-room resort has rapidly soared to the top of the “best places to stay” list in Las Vegas. Wynn Las Vegas boasts over 2500 guest rooms and suites, with all outfitted with flat-screen LCD television sets, fax machines, high-speed Internet access, and cordless telephones. Each room also comes with a soaking tub, a separate glassed-in shower, dual sinks, and floor-to-ceiling windows. What’s more: many rooms offer panoramic views of the Las Vegas Strip, the golf course, and the resort’s manicured gardens.

Shopping at the Wynn is also spectacular. The retail arcade includes some of the world’s most prestigious retailers, such as Dior, Cartier, Chanel, Manolo Blahnik, and Judith Leiber. You can even shop for a Ferrari, right in the resort.
In addition to a full schedule of popular entertainers, the Wynn Las Vegas hosts the popular musical farce, “Spamalot”, a musical look at Monty Python’s King Arthur skits, and the alluring Cirque de Soleil production of “La Reve.” There are also three nightclubs, one of which is the trendy an energetic “Blush.”
The Casino at the Wynn
Over 111,000-square feet of gaming space awaits at the Wynn, with all the latest in gaming technology. The almost two thousand slot machines range in denomination from one cent to $5000, and include video poker and bingo games. Poker enthusiasts will find twice weekly, no-limit Texas Hold ‘Em tournaments. Table games include all of the favorites: Blackjack, Roulette, Pai Gow Poker, and Craps and the Wynn hosts a large race and sports book.
Dining at Wynn Las Vegas
Restaurants at the Wynn Las Vegas range from fine dining to sports bar. In total, there are ten restaurants and dining areas. Among the highlights of the resort’s eateries are:
Alex – The Wynn’s fine dining restaurant, ”Alex”, is the recipient of AAA’s five-diamond award. Open for dinner nightly, except for Mondays, this restaurant specializes in a mixture of seafood and meat dishes, all making use of the freshest ingredients. Food lovers will enjoy the restaurant’s four-course chef tasting menu, which changes nightly.
SW Steakhouse – The Wynn’s steakhouse is located along the banks of the resort’s scenic lake. It serves up USDA Prime Black Angus steaks and quality seafood, accompanied by traditional salads and side dishes. SW Steakhouse is open daily for dinner.
Daniel Boulud Brasserie – Daniel Boulud Brasserie is a traditional French bistro, serving classic French dishes in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Menu favorites include ‘’steak frites” (a New York strip steak with thinly-cut fries), duck confit, and baked halibut. Open for dinner nightly, the Brasserie also offers a choice of ”prix fixe” menus – a good value compared to the a la carte menu.
Okada – A marriage of traditional Japanese technique with abundant American produce, Okada offers surprising and innovative cuisine with an Asian flair. The casually-elegant restaurant is open nightly for dinner, and highlights include a caviar tasting, traditional Japanese tempura, and ”robatayaki” (skewers of marinated meat, vegetables, or seafood grilled over Japanese charcoal).

Your pictures of the Wynn are great. I stayed at the Wynn back in December and was amazed by the amount of things to do. The light show in the waterfall is breath taking at night. You forgot to mention the tableau restaurant which was the only place I ate. There are so many great things to do at the Wynn, I can’t stop thinking of them all. Great post and i’ll leave now.
