Few places in the world are as dramatic and scenic as Northern California’s Big Sur, located along the Pacific Coast just south of Monterey. The sparsely-populated area boasts spectacular views as the Santa Lucia Mountain rise abruptly from the ocean. It’s a perfect spot for a romantic getaway or honeymoon.
Hidden among the hills are a few casual, yet luxurious hotels. Chief among these is the Post Ranch Inn. This collection of free-standing cottages features sweeping sea views and spacious decks and balconies from which to enjoy them. Other features include wood-burning fireplaces, hot tubs, and full kitchens. Units range from one to three-bedroom and some are multi-level.

Big Sur is accessible from any of the San Francisco Bay area airports (San Francisco, Oakland, or San Jose). Although the Post Ranch Inn will send a car to pick you up at the airport, it’s best to rent a car if you’d like to explore the area.
