If you want to save money, go to the American side. Explore the islands. (They are a state park, so they are free) Canadians never fail to mention their side has a better view, but that means way more people, and piles of junk souvenir shops.

I did the Maid of the Mist last year and would recommend it. Also, one thing we learned is that if you drive just a mile or so away from the falls the cost of everything, including restaurants, drops significantly. If you’re looking to save a little bit of money that can help.

Nice post, i just brought my kids up there for the first time and they loved it. The new indoor water park is great! It is not even half as crowded as 6 flags or the other US water parks. And my kids loved the Butterfly Conservatory but we missed the Aviary which they scream about all the time, lol
