Experiencing Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls is one of the places which regularly makes the must-see list on a traveler’s itinerary. It’s one of the most amazing features of the natural world with cascading waterfalls and beautiful surroundings. More than this, it is located in a diverse area which offers much more to do than many travelers realize at first. Americans who visit Niagara Falls get a chance to see a bit of the Canadian culture and visitors find that there’s a surprising amount of activity in the area.

Many people think that if they go to Niagara Falls, all they’ll do is spend half a day looking at a tourist attraction. However, this is not the case at all. If you head to the official website of the Niagara Falls area and click on “attractions”, you’ll see that there are over forty major attractions located there. These attractions do include the natural wonders of the area such as hiking and camping regions but they also include modern attractions such as the Niagara Falls IMAX theater experience.

In terms of natural attractions at Niagara Falls, one of the favorites is Journey Behind the Falls. Imagine standing beneath those massive rushing waterfalls, looking at them from behind where they are actually falling. It’s a magical experience which can’t be had in too many places throughout the world and yet it’s a regular experience for those people who visit Niagara Falls. Another favorite natural attraction is the White Water Walk which lets you see the astounding power of the rushing water that this area is known for.

In addition to the natural attractions, you can spend several days at Niagara Falls seeing the manmade attractions. There are a number of different museums which will show you the history of the area. There is a bird kingdom and botanical gardens where you can see a bit of nature in a more educational setting. And then there are spots like the revolving dining area atop Skylon Tower, the Nightmares Fear Factory and the Ripley’s Believe it or Not Museum where travelers find entertainment on a variety of different levels.
