Texans love to shop and no where is this more true than in Dallas. Here, shopping isn’t a chore, but an event–one to be planned in advance and to get dressed up for. Below are just a few of the many unique shopping venues in and around the “Big D.”

The Galleria. This upscale shopping mall is located on the north side of town and features hundreds of retailers. Among them are anchor stores, Nordstrom, Macy’s, and Sak’s Fifth Avenue as well as Coach, Gucci, Tiffany and Co., Louis Vuitton. Facilities include a full spa, multiple restaurants, and an indoor skating rink.

Neiman Marcus. Dallas is the home of upscale retailer, Neiman Marcus. The popular store first opened in 1907 and now has 38 stores across the country. However, the flagship store on Main Street in downtown Dallas is still an experience not to be missed. “N-M” specializes in dramatic apparel, housewares, and gift items.

Cabela’s. This huge shopping emporium, located just north of Fort Worth, calls itself the “World’s Foremost Outfitter.” The two-story store carries everything you could possibly want for hunting, fishing, camping, RVing, and a host of other sports.

Grapevine Mills. Everything is larger than life in Texas, including the outlet malls. This one, located on the city’s north end, features more than 180 manufacturer’s outlet stores, including Ann Taylor Lofts, Off Fifth-Sak’s Fifth Avenue, Chico’s, and Gap. In addition, there’s a 30-screen movie theater, food court, and ice skating rink.

Good afternoon! There is definitely plenty of great shopping in North Texas. I just wanted to let you know that Grapevine Mills mall is not located in Dallas…rather, it is in Grapevine, Texas.

    Enjoy more shopping sprees! :)
