Desert Botanical Garden - Founded in 1939, this 140-acre garden in the Papago Park neighborhood of Phoenix is home to more than 21,000 plants, including more than 100 rare and endangered specimens. Highlights include the garden’s collection of cacti and agave plants.

Camelback Mountain - You can’t go far in Phoenix without seeing Camelback Mountain, the distinctive backdrop to most city vistas. The upper elevations of the 2074-foot high mountain are a city park, filled with hiking and biking trails.

Scottsdale Art District - Scottsdale, located just outside of Phoenix, is home to more than 100 art galleries, offering everything from silver and turquoise jewelry to wood carvings to watercolors.
