Why travel all the way to Egypt when you can see the Sphinx and a pyramid at the Luxor in Las Vegas? In fact, it’s even better than heading to its namesake, the town of Luxor in Egypt, because they don’t actually have any pyramids there.
JStaying at the Luxor is a real experience. The hotel rooms are built into the outer walls of the pyramid and you reach them on a kind of travelator, overlooking the world’s largest atrium. In the last year or so, the Luxor has undergone some renovations and refurbishment work so it’s now even better than before.
While you’re staying there, you’ll barely need to step outside into Las Vegas. You can gamble, eat, drink, dance and see concerts on site, or even watch a movie in the IMAX theater. The Luxor is also home, of course, to the new LAX Nightclub at Luxor, opened recently by Britney Spears.
And if you do decide to wander out along the Las Vegas Strip, you won’t have to worry about finding your way back to your hotel. It’s pretty hard to miss a giant sphinx and a not-so-ancient pyramid, even after a long night out on the town.
