Guest seem to chose Space Mountain as their top pick of thrill ride at the Magic Kingdom. Space Mountain is a roller coaster attraction that launches riders into space where they will experience twists and turns at high speeds. What makes this attraction extra exciting is that it is in complete darkness. Once you “blast off” you will find yourself traveling at high speeds, with drops and turns, all without being able to see the roller coaster track or what is ahead of you. Space Mountain is a steel roller coaster and the ride itself is two and a half minutes long. Guests are known to race to the attraction (located in Tomorrowland) when the park opens – in order to avoid long lines later in the day. Space Mountain is one of those rides that guests love to experience again and again.

Also in the big thrill category at Magic Kingdom is Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain. Splash Mountain is a log flume ride that takes riders into the story of Brer Fox and Brer Rabbit, with songs from Song of the South. The ride contains three drops and reaches a maximum height of 87 feet. The 45 foot drop offers riders a top thrill! Big Thunder Mountain in Frontierland is another high speed coaster – with cars that resemble mine trains, guests experience 3 lift hills, with various dips, turns and twists. This steel roller coaster reaches a maximum speed of 36mph.
