Red Rock, Vegas

We all know that there are a million things to see and do on the Las Vegas strip. Time stops as you wander from nightclub to casino to entertainment venue to buffet and back again. You could easily spend weeks going from hotel to hotel on The Strip and never get bored.

But there’s more to Vegas than this one street. Vegas is a growing city with a busy community who find plenty to do without hitting the famous hotels. The traveler who wants a unique Vegas experience will see what else the city has to offer.

  • Binion’s Horseshoe Casino – This is where the locals gamble. It is not for the faint of heart or anyone new to the tables.
  • Ethel M. Chocolates – Take a tour of a chocolate factory and sample to your tastebuds’ content.
  • Fremont Street Light show – This happens in downtown Las Vegas, a bustling area that often gets overlooked in the shadow of The Strip.
  • Las Vegas Art Museum – You check out the MoMA in New York, the SFMoma in San Francisco and the many art museums in D.C.; why not a Vegas art museum?
  • Pinball Hall of Fame – You won’t win any money playing these old games but you sure can have a terrific time.
  • Ron Lee’s World of Clowns – A museum devoted to clown figures.

Like any city, Vegas has plenty of things to find if you go searching. Most people don’t bother since The Strip makes entertainment so accessible. But if you’ve already done the Strip, you might be ready for something different.
