One of the most unique resorts in Las Vegas, and often one of the best values, is the Egyptian-themed Luxor Hotel on the south end of the Strip. This 4407-room hotel has a distinctive pyramid building, a 3/4 model of the Pyramid of Giza as well as a sphinx and obelisk in front of the hotel.
Rooms
The 4407 guest rooms and suites at the Luxor are housed in the pyramid and two 22-story towers. All rooms feature Egyptian-themed decor in soothing earth tones, a large plasma TV, and Internet access. Suites and some guest rooms have large whirlpool spa tubs and separate sitting rooms.
Activities
There’s plenty to do at the Luxor, without even leaving the grounds. The hotel has a 120,000-square foot gaming floor, with slots, table games, poker, keno, and a sports book. There’s also a luxury spa, a lavish outdoor swimming pool with private cabanas for rent, the “King Tut Museum” with actual artifacts from Egypt, an IMAX theater, and a shopping arcade with 29 high-end retailers. Of course, the hotel boasts plenty of dining options. There are eight restaurants, ranging from the formal Luxor Steakhouse to the popular buffet.
